POSITION SUMMARY The Warehouse Associate performs a variety of work assignments from moving freight on & off trailers to stacking/storing, counting inventory, and transporting shipments between the warehouse and customer location. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Safe operation of forklift or other powered equipment in the loading, unloading, moving, stacking, and staging of product.
- Inspect forklifts, trailers, commercial vehicle, and other equipment daily and report any maintenance issues to Shipping Manager.
- Unload inbound shipments safely and move product to storage locations.
- Effectively stack and store product in appropriate locations.
- Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage.
- Document any variances appropriately and according to procedure
- Pull and prepare orders for shipment.
- Efficiently move product from staging into/onto trailer.
- Prepare & keep accurate paperwork to guarantee accurate inventory control.
- Obtain appropriate documentation & signatures for verification of receipt/delivery of product.
- Transport shipments to customer location.
- Assist in packing area to ensure shipments leave on time.
- Assist in physical inventories.
- Maintain neat, clean, and orderly work area.
- Other duties and responsibilities as necessary.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The position involves walking and lifting, up to 50 pounds throughout the shift.
Requirements JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and EDUCATION
- High School Diploma/GED or two years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must possess a current valid driver's license
- Ability to safely operate a forklift
- Have the ability to obtain a forklift certification.
- Ability to bend/stoop to inspect forklift, trailer, commercial vehicle.
- Ability to enter/exit commercial vehicle, climb on/off forklift, trailers, & warehouse ladders.
- Ability to frequently move freight manually or by use of equipment.
- Ability to work well with people under minimum supervision.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in standing position throughout shift.
Salary Description $16-17 per hour
