Shipping & Receiving Attendant IResponsibilities
- Check paperwork before unloading, counting all items to make sure they match the paperwork.
- Inspect all items for damage. Report all damage to a supervisor immediately.
- Make sure incoming product is put away in the correct place.
- Label all incoming product with appropriate lot number and enter into inventory management system.
- Before loading a truck, work with supervisor to map out the load.
- Before loading a truck, make sure the reefer is set to the correct temperature.
- Double check invoices and load sheets to be sure correct items are being placed on the pallet.
- When building pallets, ensure proper rotation (first in, first out).
- Record lot numbers on the load sheets and enter into inventory management system.
- At the end of each day, conduct physical inventory and reconcile with inventory management system.
- Handle all products carefully. If any damage occurs, report all damages to a supervisor, and do not ship damaged product.
- Work with warehouse supervisor to perform quality control inspections prior to loading products on trucks.
- Assist in other areas as needed.
Requirements
- General interest in learning warehousing procedures.
- Ability to accurately follow and document paperwork.
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Ability and desire to learn and grow.
- Experience operating forklifts and electric pallet jacks in a safe manner preferred.
