SHIPPING & RECEIVING CLERK (Full-Time)Job Description & Core ResponsibilitiesDepartment: Casino Administration Reports To: Shipping & Receiving Manager FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Pay Grade: Grade 2 Starting Wage: $13.37 - $16.71 Gaming Class: Compact/Gaming Application Deadline: December 13th, 2024 Position Summary:The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for assisting in a variety of duties, including shipping and receiving of items, unloading and loading trucks, delivering items, completing required paperwork, and maintaining a clean and orderly working environment while adhering to organizational policies and procedures.Core Duties and Responsibilities:The Shipping & Receiving Clerk is responsible for the following duties:
  • Count, sort, and weigh all inbound goods and authenticate the receipt of the same in accord with the shipping note.
  • Keep a record of all received goods.
  • Propose suggestions to the supervisor regarding the documentation, storage and procurement of goods.
  • Coordinate with the transporter and other workers the organization for smoothly receiving goods.
  • Complete all legal formalities, procedures, and paperwork for receiving goods.
  • Verify and keep records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepare items for shipment: Compare identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
  • Determine method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.
  • Affix shipping labels on packed cartons.
  • Assemble containers or select preassembled containers.
  • Insert items into containers, using spacers, fillers, and protective padding.
  • Post weights and shipping charges, and affix postage.
  • Unpack and examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages, and correspond with shipper and/or ordering party to rectify damages and shortages.
  • Route items to departments.
  • Examine outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
  • Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
  • Maintain ServSafe Food Certification.
  • Maintain Forklift Certification.
  • May operate tier-lift truck or use hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping-and-receiving platform to storage or work area.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications - Education and Experience:Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED).

  • Flexible.
  • Basic computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Two years of related job experience is preferred.
Work Environment:The work environment is fast-paced and requires overall good mental and physical health. Physical Demands:Job-specific abilities and requirements include:Ability to stand, sit, and walk extended periods of time. Ability to lift at least 75 pounds. Ability to climb ladders. Ability to drive with a valid driver's license. Ability to perform repetitive motion from use of a computer. Ability to operate forklift. Ability to bend, turn, and lift.
