JOB SUMMARY - Shipping / Receiving Associate - Albany, NY Are you a versatile individual with a passion for warehouse management and looking to grow with a company? We are seeking a skilled and highly motivated Shipping/Receiving Associate to join our team. We are looking for someone who has the potential to grow into a lead or supervisor role in the future. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for handling various aspects of shipping and receiving, ensuring seamless order processing, and efficiently managing day-to-day warehouse activities. Position Details: Location: 20 Corporate Circle, Albany, NY 12203 Hours: Monday to Friday - 7:00 am - 3:30 pm Reports to: Inventory Control Supervisor Wage: $18.00 - $21.00 What You'll Do:
- Prepare products for shipping, complete paperwork ensuring accurate labeling and proper documentation, and ship packages domestically and internationally.
- Schedule and follow up with carriers.
- Receive incoming packages, perform inspections of goods received, and route material to the correct location.
- Drive a forklift.
- Loading and unloading goods from tractor trailers and vans by Forklift and by hand, when required.
- Engages with vendors and drivers with a positive attitude.
- Tracks, traces, and updates the status of incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Collaborates and communicates with production, customer service, and others involved in the shipment and receipt of products.
- Safely handle heavy lifting (up to 70 lbs.) and organize inventory efficiently to maintain a well-structured warehouse.
- Organize stock and maintain inventory.
- Assist in inventory audits.
- Uphold cleanliness and safety standards to create a secure and pleasant working environment.
- Other duties as assigned
What' You'll Need:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1+ years of experience in a similar role (Logistics, Shipping, or Warehouse)
- Proficient computer skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office and Oracle considered a plus.
- Experience with Shipping software such as UPS Worldship and Fed Ex.
- Experience with handling freight shipments is considered a huge plus!
- Experience with LEAN manufacturing a plus.
- Previous experience as a team lead or supervisor considered a bonus.
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Effective communicator, both verbal and written
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment and to meet all deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail and organization skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Positive attitude and demonstrated ability to work well with a team.
- Self-motivated.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 70lbs regularly
- Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and reach.
- Must be able to communicate effectively.
