Job Type Full-timeDescriptionProjects Inc. is seeking an experienced Shipping & Receiving Clerk who has worked at an AS9100 company and has experience with and ERP or systems to join our team. We are a manufacturer of complex small, machined components for the Aerospace and Power Systems industries and has been in business for over fifty years. The qualified candidate will be part of the Production Planning department and will split their time between shipping and receiving as well as occasionally delivering product using the company van, based on the needs of the business.Job Responsibilities:Shipping & Receiving Clerk:Apply proper packaging and marking methods as prescribed or determined to prepare, protect, and identify items during handling and shipment. Efficiently process parts through the shipping & receiving cycle maintaining the traceability of parts as required or banded. Responsibilities:Receiving:
  • Unload, count, and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and damage.
  • Verify received goods against purchase orders or invoices using ERP system.
  • Ensure proper storage of received items according to company standards.
  • Maintain traceability of parts by verifying incoming material with Certifications
Shipping:
  • Prepare outgoing shipments by packing items securely, creating and checking necessary documentation, and labeling packages accurately.
  • Review Shipping documentation for packaging instructions to properly label and complete orders for shipment.
  • Confirm counts and conduct a visual inspection of parts for nicks, dents, scratches, rust, etc.
  • Assemble standard packing boxes/crates and be familiar with correct methods of cushioning, locating items in containers, etc. to ensure parts are packed securely do avoid damage during transit.
  • Prepare product with appropriate shipping materials utilizing grease and/or moisture-proof paper, bubble wrap, foam packaging, etc. prior place in containers, wrap and seal according to specified requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and timely shipment of products or materials to their destinations.
  • Maintain traceability of parts by verifying incoming material with Certifications.
  • Facilitate the movement of parts in and out of department.
  • Visually inspect components for conformance to customer and product specifications.
  • Maintain work areas and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations.
  • Assist as needed with the Inventory shipping supplies daily and order as needed.
  • Use of company business systems to determine the status/disposition of product.
  • Performs all computer functions necessary to track various aspects of goods.
  • Prepare, verify, and package outgoing packages for subcontract services.
  • Properly prepare crates and skids for outgoing freight shipments
  • Process outbound shipments per customer requested use of but not limited to UPS, FedEx, DHL, Ceva, and other various freight handlers.
  • Prepare the necessary shipping paperwork including international customs paperwork and obtaining Automated Export System (AES) numbers.
  • Ability to use and submit shipment request thru several customer portals to obtain waybills and other needed shipment paperwork.
  • Verify incoming shipments/orders for count accuracy and complete certification packages.
  • Process daily receipts using the ERP software.
  • Deliver parts to correct departments and/pr personnel.
  • Other responsibilities assigned by your supervisor.
Delivery Driver:Transfers goods between company and customer locations throughout Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island. Responsibilities:• Operates company-owned and leased vehicles.• Operate trucks for the delivery, pickup and relocation of products and materials.• Perform required before-, during- and after-operation vehicle inspection(s) and provide required reports for issues/repairs.• Review orders to confirm correct product is packed/received/delivered.• Pack and unpack products to be delivered• Complete and maintain for proper and accurate documentation of deliveries/products.RequirementsQuality AssuranceTo ensure the product and related paperwork are correct and any special or customer requests are completed.Customer ServiceAbility to handle urgent need requests from internal and external customers.
  • Capable of maintaining short lead times and handle special requests from both internal and external customers.
  • Ability to meet customer needs and meet required deadlines while meeting a high expectation for quality.
  • Capable of working extended hours as needed to meet a customer's requirements
CommunicationMaintain positive communication with internal and external customers.
  • Responsible for proper documentation and upkeep of all files both electronic and physical.
  • Interact with other functional groups to update, inform, acknowledge, or resolve problems related to business issues.
  • Interact with company business systems and other business software including data entry, inquiry, transaction, and update.
