QualificationsWe presently have an employment opportunity for a Shipping and receiving associate in one of our operations. In this new role, the Shipping and Receiving Associate verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment as well as assisting with maintaining the physical inventory.What are the day-to-day responsibilities?
  • Count, weigh, or measure items in incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records.
  • Unpack and examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages, and correspond with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
  • Determine method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.
  • Assemble wooden or cardboard containers, or select pre-assembled containers.
  • Insert items into containers, using spacers, filters, and protective padding.
  • Stamp, stencil, or glue identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers
  • Affix shipping labels on packed cartons, or stencil identifying shipping information on cartons, using stenciling equipment.
  • Post weights and shipping charges, and affix postage.
  • Ensure that outgoing shipping meet specifications.
  • Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
  • Operate tier-lift truck or use hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping-and-receiving platform to storage or work area.
  • Direct others in preparing outgoing and receiving incoming shipments.
  • Pull, inspect and assist Parts Driver in the loading of parts for delivery.
  • Receive damaged or defective goods returned to establishment and be designated Returned Goods, Receiving Clerk.
  • Receive unsold products returned by Parts Driver, inspect for damage, and if in sale condition put back into inventory.
  • Manage daily stock order receipts and storage and inventory updates. Report all variances.
  • Control the receipt, inventory and usage of all warranty parts maintaining records of all necessary information i.e. RO, claim number, repair date.
  • Manage the daily collection, purging, and return of scrap metal, cores, hybrid batteries as per policy and procedure.
  • Monthly Obsolescence Parts return for credit.
  • Maintain a clean and organized working environment.
  • Maintains a professional clean and pressed business appearance as determined by dealership management; follow the Code of Business Ethics and Conduct.
Position Requirements:
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to use parts department computer system, calculator, motor vehicle, and tier-lift, fork lift, and hand trucks.
  • Ability to use mechanical tools such as crimpers, pliers, wrenches, and tape measure.
  • Must have a driver's license.
Preferred certifications
  • Completed and obtained Hazmat certification
