Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment by performing the following duties.Supervisory Responsibilities:

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Demonstrates the behaviors of punctuality, regular attendance, professionalism towards supervisors and co-workers, and self-directed task completion.
  • Maintains clean work area.
  • Must comply with all departmental SOP's (Standard Operating Procedures), company GMP's (Good Manufacturing Practices), Employee Handbook Policies, including attendance, and all safety rules and standards.
  • Works normal shift hours and overtime as required.
  • Coordinates efforts as part of the team to provide assistance to all co-workers in all departments to maximize production efficiencies as needed.
  • Trains co-workers and new hires to set up, operate and use equipment.
  • Maintains all equipment by performing routine maintenance and cleaning.
  • Verifies and maintains records, such as daily Forklift Inspections, and Inventory.
  • Stores and organizes materials or items in racks or on shelves, according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style or product code.
  • Marks materials with identifying information using tags generated from the AS400 system.
  • Reads production schedule to determine which jobs are scheduled for the day; issues appropriate stock requisition for the items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
  • Weighs or counts items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards.
  • Prepares outgoing shipments by assembling cartons/boxes, inserting item into carton, determines method of shipment, affixes shipping labels on package and posts weights and shipping charges.
  • Compares identifying information and counts, weighs or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
  • Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
  • Routes items to departments.
  • Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
  • Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
  • Operates lift truck, clamp truck and/or hand truck to move shipments.
  • Uses computer to ship orders for FedEx, UPS or truck line shipments.

  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
Education and Experience:High school diploma or equivalent.Physical Requirements: Regularly required to stand and reach with hands and arms. Frequently required to walk; stoop, kneel, crouch and talk or hear. Frequently lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 125 pounds. Requires constant movement and bending. Work Environment:The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
