The position entails working with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders at all levels of the organization. The individual will require the independent judgment to plan, prioritize, and organize a diverse workload. This role provides a wide variety of support services to the client office and the successful candidate will be detail oriented with strong organizational skills and a team player attitude.What your day-to-day will look like: Prepare required shipping documents for dangerous goods, diagnostic and research samples, etc. while complying with export, customs, GMP and DEA regulations for controlled substances.Handling limited quantities and exceptions for hazmat shipping and dangerous goods.Driving a Box Truck roughly 15-20% of the time doing deliveries and dropping off packages at least 3x daily.Selects the most appropriate mode of transportation for shipments.Maintains safety checklists. Working knowledge of all functions including shipping, receiving, mail.Perform shipping and receiving duties.Support the shipment of goods produced and the received goods and supplies to be used in or to aid in the production/storage of goods destined for sale to our customer base.Responsible to decide for pick-up by the carrier specified on the customer's purchase req. which is conveyed to the shipping clerk by final inspection via the shipping instructions.Must report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.Responsible for always keeping an adequate supply of shipping materials on hand.Required to forward a requisition for shipping materials to the Department Supervisor for approval.Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.Deliver packages in a timely fashion, and to appropriate end users, while obtaining signature for receipt of delivery.Pick-up and delivery of mail services included.Daily monitoring of the Allocation Shipping Schedule.Non-Hazardous Waste, Drums & Plastics management.Receipt & delivery of fiber drums and liners with appropriate charge outs to inventory system.Coordination of Waste & Plastic pick up and removal.Witness of document destruction services performed monthly.Perform weekly personnel office moves as scheduled!Perform customer move and disposal requests submitted to work order management systems in a timely fashion, while adhering to target metrics.Safely moving goods packed on pallets or in crates, furniture, machinery, or equipment around the facility as requested, ensuring loads are secure, and always stacked properly.Stacking empty pallets for staging, disposal, etc.Empty, replace and maneuver dumpsters as needed.Respond effectively to all emergencies.Comply with all safety procedures, maintaining good housekeeping and safety of work areas, while recognizing dangerous or unsafe hazards in a timely fashion and proposing methods to eliminate them.Observe and comply with quality, environment, health and safety procedures.Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment used.Perform assigned facility and equipment inspections and due diligence efforts, reporting on and found conditions impacting satisfactory client occupancy and operations.Maintain compliance to State, County, or City Ordinances, Codes, or Laws.Complies with all policies for the safe storage, usage and disposal of hazardous materials.Participate in ongoing technical, safety, and operational process training programs.Documents work performance and materials procurement as directed. Working Conditions: The position may require the employee to work with chemical and biological agents that may be hazardous to health if mishandled (including agents which may potentially affect reproductive health and/or development of the fetus). Employees will be required to follow all safety procedures and use personal protective clothing/equipment as provided by the company where specified.Work Schedule: Monday to Friday: 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM or 8:00 AM - 4:30 PMDesired or Preferred Experience and Technical Skills: At least one year working in Bio-Pharma or Pharmaceutical industry or similar industry a plus.5 + years of Hazardous Materials' Shipping experience desired.3+ years of relevant experience as forklift operator. Required Skills and Experience: High School graduate or equivalent.Must possess a valid driver's license and complete appropriate training based on vehicles utilized where applicable.Both written procedures and verbal instructions will be executed with strict attention to safety and quality.Accurate and timely execution of activities and results are a requirement.Strict adherence to federal, state and local regulations is required.Team player, and hard worker with good interpersonal skills.Excellent customer service skills.Attention to detail and familiarity with industrial equipment.Collaborative work with other employees is a necessity to achieve departmental and company goals.Valid certification, or ability to obtain using in house training resources, to operate forklifts per OSHA standards.A high degree of accuracy is required for handling sensitive equipment and proper routing of shipments.Ability to frequently walk up and down stairs for inspections and emergency procedure practice or implementation.Ability to detect emergency alarms - auditory and/or visual.Ability to lift 60 lbs. repeatedly.Certified in (D.O.T. 49 CFR) Department of Transportation and (I.A.T.A.) International Air Transport Association regulations - preferred at hire but must obtain within 3 months of start using in house training resources.Ability to always multitask and maintain professionalism, sometimes under stressful situations.Superior ability to plan and manage work, and meet deadlines, under minimal supervision.Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.Being able to lift, bend and move in such a way as to perform job tasks in a safe and approved manner.Must be able to operate required equipment required by this position in a safe and approved manner.
