Job Summary: The Shipping Supervisor oversees the shipping operation of the
distribution center. They ensure that all outbound operations are
managed in an effective manner. They complete various management,
organizational, and planning tasks to maintain high performance of the
distribution center. Their duties include mentoring and training
employees as well as building strong relationships with their teams. They
need to ensure that their teams are working in a safe, accurate, efficient,
and productive manner.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Understands and can perform each job within the Shipping Department of the
- Distribution Center.
- Oversees payroll/time & attendance of their employees.
- Maintains the organization of the shift by assigning tasks to the employees throughout
- the shift.
- Follows all food safety and defense procedures/policies and ensures compliance with
- these procedures/policies.
- Coaches and trains employees to complete their jobs efficiently, safely, accurately, and
- productively.
- Assures safety procedures are being followed throughout the DC.
- Operates power equipment and ensures safety regulations are followed.
- Conducts regular team meetings.
- Ensure all warehouse sanitation standards are met.
- Managers new hire orientation and training.
- Ensures warehouse goals are met.
- Effectively communicates expectations to employees.
- Effectively and proactively communicates with various departments in the organization.
- Support individual team goals and initiatives.
- Maintain Shipping documentation. Enter relevant data into the warehouse management
- system as needed.
- Responsible for upholding company core values.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by leadership.

- Pallet jacks, forklifts, reach trucks, power equipment, voice trained headset
Education & Experience:
- Previous leadership experience working in a distribution center preferred
- A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required
- Experience working with WMS (warehouse management systems) preferred
- Previous experience operating power equipment preferred
