Job Description:

The Shipping Team Lead is a key member of the EDCOAT Shipping department team. This full-time non-exempt position is based in New, Carlisle Indiana. This is a 1st shift position with normal working hours of Monday - Friday, 7am-3:30pm. This individual is responsible for assisting customers, drivers, and material handlers incoming and outgoing material.Success will be defined by your ability to provide excellent internal and external customer service along with the administrative order responsibilities Essential Duties & Responsibilities An individual in this position must be able to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities listed described.   • Greets drivers, tracks orders to ship, arranges loading preparation, picks loads and prepares bills of lading and receiving tags.
  • Coordinates with material handlers to ensure orders are pulled and loaded in a timely manner.
  • Confirms material is not damaged at time of receiving and shipping
  • Ensures customers receive all product requested.
  • Verifies documents are signed by driver and files accordingly.
  • Informs CSRs of major discrepancies.
  • Ensures proper handling/receiving procedures of any hazardous materials have been maintained in order to protect EDCOAT from liability for improper/illegal shipping or receiving of hazardous materials.
  • Monitors inventory locations are updated
  • Validates cycle counting is being performed
  • Forklift and crane operation to move material
  • In events of call offs or PTO coverage, work OT as needed up to 12 hrs/day
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Language Skills
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Provide clear and detailed instructions and expectations.
  • Mathematical Skills
    • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
  • Reasoning Ability
    • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Customer services skills
  • 6 months computer experience required
