Key Responsibilities:
- Lead welding projects, ensuring work is performed to the highest standards of quality and safety.
- Ensure compliance with ABS (American Bureau of Shipping) and USCG (United States Coast Guard) regulations.
- Supervise and mentor welding staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and skill development.
- Coordinate with project managers to ensure timely completion of projects.
- Oversee the preparation and execution of dry docking for barges and tugs, ensuring all processes meet industry standards.
- Conduct regular safety and compliance audits, acting as the Shipyard Competent Person.
- Collaborate with engineering and project management teams to optimize project outcomes.
- Implement and maintain best practices for welding and fabrication processes.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Shipyard/Welding Leadman or similar role.
- Minimum 5 years of Maritime Experience
- Certification as a Shipyard Competent Person.
- In-depth knowledge of ABS/USCG regulations.
- Experience with Barge and Tug Dry dockings.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
