About the job Shop Assistant The Shop Assistant will maintain accurate records of parts and materials, including purchase orders, invoices, and current inventory. Monitor and track the availability and usage of parts, ensuring timely reordering to prevent any disruptions in workflow. Perform any additional duties he/she may be assigned or directed to complete by management.Responsibilities
- Abide by all safety policies and procedures.
- Be fluent in data entry, Excel, Power point.
- Coordinate & communicate with staff.
- Document filing.
- Monitoring stock levels & identifying purchasing needs.
- Tracking orders and insuring timely delivery.
- Researching potential vendors
- Coordinate staff on special duties.
- Report any defective materials to the department supervisor.
- Complete other duties assigned.
Candidate Requirements:
- Excellent written & communication in English (Spanish is a plus)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must have Drivers License w/ acceptable driving record.
- Must be able to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker identification Credential)
- Dependable mode of transportation to and from work
- Must be willing to travel, as needed.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Candidate may be exposed to weather conditions like heat, rain & cold on daily basis.
- Capable of walking, bending, stooping, climbing, sitting and lifting.
- Ability to work in a noisy environment.
- The ability and willingness to work in a team environment.
