Examples of Duties
Under general supervision, performs specialized clerical work in support of a maintenance shop.
Examples of Essential Duties
* Keeps, updates, and maintains shop office and personnel records including time sheets, payroll, and attendance.
* Updates and maintains records of materials, supplies, and equipment used by the shop.
* Prepares and compiles reports of material and equipment usage and job costs.
* Keeps records of operation and maintenance costs for shop vehicles and equipment.
* Maintains inventory of equipment parts and schedules maintenance and repair of equipment.
* Prepares and processes requisitions for materials and supplies.
* Receives, logs, and responds to telephone inquiries, complaints, and requests for service.
* Operates office machinery such as photocopiers, fax machines, and calculators.
* Operates short wave radio to send and receive messages to and from field personnel.
* Monitors alarm systems and dispatch crews to respond to calls for service and emergencies.
Examples of Other Duties
* Performs typing and word processing.
* Codes, enters and retrieves information using data entry devices.
* Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Possession of a high school diploma or an appropriate high school equivalency

One year's general clerical experience.
Additional experience as described in the essential duties may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
Additional education may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
