Faller, Davis and Associates is actively seeking a Full Time Shop Drawing Technical Project Coordinator for immediate employment in Central Florida.
DESCRIPTIONThe Shop Drawing Technical Project Coordinator will be performing a range of construction project control functions including administration of construction and maintenance contracts, management and tracking of Bid Sets, Submittals, Shop Drawings, correlating project specifications and drawing plan sheets, file management (electronic filing), and other administrative duties including copying, scanning documents, development and tracking of project-related logs, and other functions as required to support the project controls group, project managers and construction engineers on a variety of Florida's Turnpike Enterprise (FTE) and other Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Districts' construction and maintenance projects.RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists with the facilitation and processing of shop drawings utilizing ProjectSolve, which hosts the shop drawing application, and provides tracking, storing, and processing of shop drawings.
- Maintains FTE/FDOT standards and provides instructional training to consultants, contractors, FTE reviewers, and construction engineering inspectors on standards and the use of ProjectSolve. Provides required tools to new Turnpike Reviewers and new Project Managers needed to implement electronic shop drawing reviews.
- Analyzes contract documents and specifications for shop drawing/submittal compliance, verifies contractor references pertaining to required shop drawing/submittal components relating to a project.
- Develops handouts for FTE Shop Drawing Procedures and Requirements for presentation at the Preconstruction Meetings. Attend Preconstruction Meetings to outline FTE Standards and discuss Shop Drawing Procedures.
- Maintains open lines of communication and coordination with design consultants, construction and project managers, contractors, construction engineering inspection firms, and FTE reviewers and design staff to facilitate the shop drawing review process. Track shop drawing reviews and their due dates to ensure project deadlines are met.
- Coordinates with Project Managers, to acquire Scope of Services for welding Inspections and/or structural coating inspections, if required on project.
- Monitors and communicates with contractors and CEI firms on any outstanding shop drawings in order to process them in a timely manner. Actively assist with problem solving of conflicts to avoid any unnecessary delays of shop drawing reviews.
- Assists the Turnpike Shop Drawing Coordinator Supervisor in addressing programmatic issues and initiatives.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or Five (5) or more years of experience in construction administration in the A/E/C industry
- Familiarity with processes, guidelines, requirements Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) for state funded construction projects
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel required, Adobe Acrobat, SharePoint, PowerBI
- Detail-oriented, organized
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team member
