We are an Equal Opportunity Employer (EEO) and value diversity in our workforce.Position Overview:The Shop General Laborer (Parts Runner) is an entry-level role responsible for providing general labor support in the shop and assisting with a variety of tasks, including parts running, basic mechanical maintenance, cleaning, and organization. Under the guidance of the Equipment Manager, this individual will assist with shop operations, working closely with both the shop and field operations teams as needed. This position plays an essential role in ensuring smooth and efficient operations within the shop environment.Key Responsibilities:
- Parts Running: Transport parts, tools, and materials to job sites or vendors as directed, ensuring timely delivery and pickup of items as needed.
- Mechanical Support: Assist with basic mechanical tasks such as routine maintenance on equipment, including oil changes, checking fluid levels, tire checks, and other minor repairs under the guidance of the Equipment Manager.
- Shop Organization: Help maintain a clean and organized shop environment by properly storing tools, materials, and equipment, and assisting with inventory management.
- Cleaning & Maintenance: Perform general cleaning duties in the shop, such as sweeping, mopping, and maintaining equipment, ensuring a safe and tidy work environment.
- Assist Other Supervisors: Provide additional support as needed to other supervisors in both the shop and field operations. Tasks may include helping load or unload materials, assisting with tool organization, and supporting day-to-day shop needs.
- Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment by reporting any hazards to supervisors immediately.
- General Labor: Support other team members with various labor tasks as directed, including organizing materials, assisting with equipment maintenance, or helping with shop setup.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a labor or warehouse environment is a plus, but not required.
- Basic mechanical knowledge or interest in learning basic equipment maintenance is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift and carry up to [insert weight] pounds.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record, must be 21 years of age or over to operate a company vehicle.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Knowledge of safety practices in an industrial or shop environment.
- Ability to follow instructions and maintain a positive attitude.
