The Shop Helper performs essential support tasks to ensure the efficiency and cleanliness of the maintenance shop. Responsibilities include battery maintenance, assisting mechanics by maintaining a clean work environment, and supporting overall shop operations to ensure technicians can work productively. This role contributes to a positive working environment and adheres to all safety protocols and company policies.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:Perform activities including shop clean up, battery maintenance (responsible for washing, charging, and keeping used batteries ready for installation).Ensure technicians can be productive and perform duties to assist the mechanics, such as cleaning up the bay after a mechanic has finished repairing a unit.Promote and maintain a positive working environment among all PGT drivers, customers, and management.Perform other related duties as required by business necessity or assigned by management.SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES:Follow all company safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.Participate in safety training programs and adhere to safety protocols.Report any safety hazards or incidents to management immediately.Ensure the proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials in compliance with safety regulations.Maintain a clean and organized work area to prevent accidents and injuries.REQUIREMENTS:Ability to perform physical tasks and lift heavy objects.Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair processes.Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.Ability to work independently and follow instructions.Good communication skills.
