Position ID: J1124-0402 Job Title: Shop Helper / Welder Job Type: Full-Time Hourly City, Province, Country: Duncan, South Carolina, United States Job Category: Manufacturing / Production Open Positions: 1 Posting Date: November 27, 2024 Closing Date: December 31, 2024 CIMCO is looking for a Shop Helper / Welder for our new facility in Duncan, SC.Role Responsibilities The Shop Helper / Welder will assist welders and fitters in fitting and tacking pipes, gaining hands-on experience in welding and fitting. This role is also responsible for efficiently moving, shipping, storing, and unloading various materials, ensuring the smooth operation of warehouse activities. Assist Welders and Fitters: Help in fitting and tacking pipes, learning the trade from experienced professionals. Operate Forklifts: Safely load and unload materials using electric or mechanical forklifts. Inventory Management: Accurately count and record materials received or shipped to maintain inventory levels. Material Handling: Store, count, weigh, and open incoming materials to ensure they are ready for use. Labeling and Organizing: Label and organize boxes to ensure materials are easily identifiable and accessible. Prepare Shipments: Bundle and wrap shipments securely for transport. Maintain Clean Workspace: Dispose of leftover packing materials like wooden crates, pallets, and cardboard.Required Professional Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications Experience: 1-2 years of relevant experience. Experience welding is an asset. Certification: Forklift Certification is required.Skills: Proficient in forklift operation and maneuvering in tight spaces. Knowledge of hand tools (e.g., drill, hammer). Excellent organizational skills. Understanding of inventory management. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Awareness of public safety and security measures. Ability to use computer technology for labeling and inventory tracking. Strong teamwork and communication skills.
