This position reports to the Manager of the Prototype Shop. This is a dual-role position of Shop Program Coordinator and Leader of the (BU) Quality Inspection team. The selected candidate will be the primary customer interface for the Prototype Shop to the Program Teams. The program coordinator supports new business, performs EVMS status of current work, and drives efficiency to shop operations. The selected candidate will also be responsible for the direct management of ~12 bargaining unit employees of the Quality Inspection team, including Vehicle/Electrical/Layout/Receiving Inspectors.

Responsibilities of the Shop Program Coordinator include the following:
* Regularly prepare shop reports, including schedule and quality and cost metrics and presentations.
* Provide quotations/bids for new work.
* Responsible for reporting EVMS status for Prototype Shop activities.
* Responsible for providing bids, estimates, BOEs and ROMs for all Prototype Shop activities including, but not limited to mechanical fabrication, electrical fabrication, vehicle assembly and retrofit, test site support and Log activities.
* Represent shop team at Kick-off and Start of Work Meetings.
* Coordinate between Prototype Shop management team and customers to set priorities and guide efficient operations.
* Attend Build Meetings and provide status to Program Leadership.
* Work collaboratively with team members to achieve shop goals and maintain high performance
Quality Inspection Team
* The Quality Inspection team conducts the following:
* In-process and final inspection of electrical and mechanical components.
* System level testing, vehicle technical inspection, and final inspection records on prototype or production vehicles.
* Maintain quality inspection records of fabrication and vehicle activities including, but not limited to vehicle deficiencies, serialized component information and vehicle logbooks.
* Establish and maintain quality controls in support of vehicle modification and upgrade programs.
* Monitor prototype vehicle builds to ensure conformance to engineering designs and specifications.
The responsibilities of the Quality Inspection Leader include the following:
* Demonstrate proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles.
* Provide support to the various engineering disciplines as required for inspections including, but not limited to dimensional inspection, weld inspection, hydraulic fluid inspection and component audits.
* Coordinate quality equipment calibration, as required.
* Manage unique aspects of providing vehicle/electrical inspector Bargaining Unit employees for test site activities (inspect and record vehicle modifications, support trouble shooting and support Engineering Quality personnel as necessary).
* Provide leadership, coaching and direction for personnel to ensure customers' needs are met.
* Ensure personnel are trained/certified to perform operations prior to job assignments.
* Create, maintain, foster and focus on continuous improvement and lean strategies, reduce cycle times, floor inventory, reduce costs and improve employee participation and satisfaction.
* Facilitate the development of team members as a WSBM Team Advisor.
* Perform hands on scheduling of tasks (i.e., either leading or supporting assembly, or interface with Engineering to eliminate any issues).
* Will be required to utilize various engineering systems and maintain compliance with department processes and procedures including ISO and IPS standards.
* Manage time charges and assure the integrity of the timecards submitted.
Qualifications Sought
* Minimum of Bachelors degree (Relevant experience will be considered in lieu of degree)
* Minimum of 7 years' experience in a manufacturing/engineering/related role
* Proven ability to establish and maintain effective customer relationships
* Must have strong oral and written communication skills
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Powerpoint), CLM (Contract Lifecycle Management)
* Experience working in Teamcenter, Vis Mockup, Power BI preferred
* Ability to meet ASR (Anthropometric Size Requirements) and able to climb/enter Military vehicles.
* Must be able to comply with all Health & Safety requirements.
* Must successfully complete background check and pre-employment medical process including a drug screen
* Must be able to work occasional evening and/or weekend overtime as required
* Ability to travel as needed
