Job Summary: The Shower CNA is responsible for providing bathing assistance to residents, ensuring their comfort, hygiene, and dignity. This role requires compassion, attention to detail, and adherence to health and safety standards. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist Residents with Bathing:
- Provide safe and comfortable bathing assistance in accordance with each resident's care plan.
- Ensure proper use of bathing equipment and supplies.
- Maintain privacy and dignity during the bathing process.
- Hygiene and Grooming:
- Assist residents with personal hygiene tasks such as washing hair, skin care, and nail care.
- Report any skin conditions or other health concerns to nursing staff.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Follow infection control protocols and safety guidelines.
- Use proper lifting techniques and equipment as needed.
- Ensure a clean and safe environment in the bathing area.
- Documentation and Communication:
- Accurately document care provided and any observations in residents' records.
- Communicate effectively with nursing staff and other team members about resident needs and changes in condition.
Qualifications:
- Certification:
- Current CNA certification in Missouri.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification preferred.
- Experience:
- Previous experience in a long-term care setting preferred.
- Experience with elderly or disabled individuals is a plus.
- Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Compassionate and patient-focused approach.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move residents as necessary.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks.
