The Free Press is looking for an experienced New York-based Showrunner / Executive Producer to quickly develop, launch and run a fast-turn round-table news show and related content.The candidate must be steeped in the news cycle, have years of experience as a senior producer or showrunner for a current affairs or news show, and lots of experience booking high-profile interviews.They must be comfortable working from big picture creative development and major editorial decisions to in the weeds - research, talent, and day-to-day production. Will report to the Head of Audio and Video.Responsibilities
- Quickly develop, staff-up, launch, and scale a complex, fast-turn news discussion show that is as compelling in an audio-only podcast format as on video.
- Run the show on an ongoing basis, including the booking of high profile guests-including from within their own deeply sourced professional network.

Qualifications
- A proven track record of booking high-profile guests to tight deadlines under the pressure of changing national and international events.
- Minimum five years' experience in audio or video news production and development.
- Proven experience running a politics/current affairs-focused news show on audio or video.
- A network of contacts in journalism and politics.
- An embrace of a scrappy start-up environment with a willingness to jump in wherever needed to help the team succeed.

Compensation
- Salary range: 140K-200K pro rated.
- Final offers for this job will be made within the parameters of this range, taking experience into account.
- This job is offered as a fixed-term contract, with potential for a full-time role including a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, retirement plans and long-term incentive & bonus programs.
