Job Summary: We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Shuttle Dispatcher to oversee the routing and coordination of shuttle services. The Shuttle Dispatcher will be responsible for ensuring efficient and timely transport for passengers, monitoring shuttle movements, and maintaining clear communication with both drivers and supervisors. This role requires excellent problem-solving abilities, strong multitasking skills, and a commitment to providing safe and reliable transportation services.
Key Responsibilities: - Dispatch Coordination:
- Assign and dispatch shuttles to ensure on-time performance and efficient routing.
- Communicate with drivers to relay route adjustments, passenger information, and emergency instructions as necessary.
- Track shuttle locations and schedules to ensure consistent service and to anticipate potential delays or issues.
- Scheduling and Routing:
- Coordinate shuttle schedules based on demand, service needs, and driver availability.
- Optimize shuttle routes to minimize travel time and maximize fuel efficiency.
- Adjust schedules and routes as needed in response to weather, traffic conditions, and other factors affecting travel times.
- Communication:
- Serve as the main point of contact for drivers and supervisors, providing timely information about schedules, delays, and route changes.
- Respond to passenger inquiries and assist with any transportation issues or concerns.
- Communicate with management about operational issues, maintenance needs, and service improvements.
- Record Keeping and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of driver shifts, passenger numbers, shuttle mileage, and fuel usage.
- Prepare daily and weekly reports on shuttle operations, highlighting any delays, incidents, or operational challenges.
- Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and company policies.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Monitor shuttle operations to ensure adherence to safety protocols and regulations.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure all shuttles are in proper working condition and address any vehicle issues promptly.
Requirements: - Experience: Previous experience as a dispatcher, preferably in transportation or logistics. - Skills:
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work under pressure.
- Proficiency in dispatch software, GPS systems, and Microsoft Office.
- Problem-solving skills and quick decision-making abilities.
Qualifications: - Familiarity with transportation regulations and safety standards.
Working Conditions: - Fast-paced, often requiring quick decisions and adjustments to schedules. - Regular shifts may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, or holidays.
Physical Demands: - Ability to lift, push and pull at least 30 pounds.
- Willingness to work in the elements - heat, wind, snow, rain, etc.
- Ability to work on a computer and on a monitor for extended periods of time
- Ability to sit, stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Ability bend, stoop, squat and lift frequently throughout a shift.
- Ability to perform functions that require repetitive motions
