Job Description:

The City of Conway is accepting resumes for an entry level Sign and Marking Technician working within the City of Conway Transportation Department. The Sign and Pavement Marking Technician will design, create and install traffic control devices; prepare signage and pavement marking plans using AutoCAD; Provide roadway plan drafting assistance to engineers using AutoCAD Civil 3D; Collect, download, and present data using manual and/or automatic traffic counters and associated software; Inspect existing signage and pavement marking for compliance with MUTCD standards and maintain signage and marking inventory.

Requirements:

* High School diploma or equivalent, with 6 months related job experience preferred.

* Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D

* International Municipal Signal Association (IMSA) Level I certification preferred. Candidates without an IMSA Level I certification must be able to obtain the Level I certification within the first twelve (12) months of their employment with the City.

* Must be available to work non-scheduled hours when directed. Must live within a 25-mile radius of the intersection of Harkrider and Oak Streets in Conway, and be subject to being called out in case of emergency or trouble.

* Must have and maintain a valid Arkansas Drivers License.

* Strong verbal and written communication skills.

* Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, technical manuals, and procedure manuals, etc. Ability to write routine reports and complete necessary forms required by the job

* Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds or more.

* Ability to work on traffic signal mast arms from bucket truck 45 to 75 feet above the ground.

* Must be willing to work in an adverse physical environment (inclement weather).

* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the general public, co-workers and elected officials.

* Must have the ability to achieve work goals, follow City policies and safety procedures.
