This is a Full-Time Seasonal Position that Begins Now and Ends 01/05/2025.Must be at least 18 years of age.Summary: Come join our Entertainment Costuming Team. We are looking for applicants who have experience with theatrical sewing. Our team is responsible for Costume Production which includes but is not limited to Building, Fitting, Organizing, Maintaining, Laundering, and Transporting costumes to and from Venues and Properties.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Launders, presses, and spot dry-cleans costumes using washers, dryers, irons and/or steamers.
- Inspecting costumes daily for any needed repairs.
- Assists performers with quick changes and attends to costumes before, during, and after performances.
- Interacts with fellow employees without distracting them while maintaining a positive, team-oriented attitude.
- Keeps work area clean and organized.
- Ensures compliance with all authorized operator requirements and safety procedures specific to the job assignment.
- Maintains a dependable work attendance and flexibility with assigned work schedules surrounding shows and events with required overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Education/Experience:
- Must possess advanced level sewing skills and be able to construct and maintain costumes by following pre-made templates and instructions.
- One year of experience in theater costuming preferred; combination of experience and/or education required.
Required Skills:
- Must be self-motivated and possess good organizational skills with proficiency in time management.
- Ability to work alone or in a team setting.
- Must be adaptable to change and work well in high stress situations.
Physical Requirements:
- The ability to lift and/or move 20 pounds frequently to 50 pounds maximum.
- The ability to stand and walk on uneven terrain, inclines, asphalt, and concrete continuously.
- The ability to remember locations, understand and carry out instructions continuously.
- The Ability to work in extreme weather frequently.
- The ability to use equipment such as sewing machines, sergers, washing machines, dryers, irons, and steamers continuously.
