Monmouth University is seeking applications for a Simulation Operations Specialist in the Marjorie K. Unterberg School of Nursing and Health Studies.
Under the supervision of the Simulation Center Director, the Simulation Operations Specialist provides technical and mechanical support for the Monmouth University/Monmouth Medical Center Linda Grunin Simulation Lab and Learning Center. Using industry standards and established best practices, the Simulation Operations Specialist is responsible for the audiovisual equipment, inventory, support, maintenance and set up, computer software support, as well as care of manikins and other equipment used in the simulation program. This is a 12-month, full-time position. Evening or weekend shifts may be required.

Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as Computer Science, Management Information Technology, or Film from an accredited school or equivalent relevant education, training and/or experience demonstrating the qualifications necessary to perform the duties of this position.
Current New Jersey State license or eligibility in relevant healthcare-related discipline if applicable, with license required within 30 days of appointment dependent on NJ State Board response time.
Two years of experience in computer technology, troubleshooting, and/or technical support in networking, computer hardware or software.
Physical ability to lift, move, maintain and set up computer, audio-visual and simulation lab equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. without assistance.
Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, organizational and communication skills. Skills in operating PC and Mac platforms with experience in MS Office and the ability to learn new technology and software programs quickly. Ability to operate standard A/V equipment, including projectors, microphones, potable screens, and other media.
Preferred Qualifications
Certified Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialist (CHSOS).
Current clinical knowledge and minimum experience working in a healthcare related field, such as emergency medical technician, paramedic, or other allied health profession certification and training. Knowledge of medical terminology and human anatomy/physiology.

Maintain current knowledge of simulation/lab equipment catalogs and operation manuals.

Program simulator software to model simulator's physiological response to instructor specifications.

Operate patient simulators and cameras during simulations.
