Overview:
POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Director or designee, assists in installation, testing and maintenance of simulation and other equipment pertaining to the inter-professional Center for Experiential Learning and Simulation, iCELS. Performs technical assistance for iCELS users. Assists with all aspects of running a simulation including recording scenarios, equipment setup and clean up. Provides after-hours coverage as needed.
Responsibilities:
ESSENTIONAL FUNCTIONS:
- Prepares skills lab and simulated learning activities in coordination with the simulation technician and faculty
- Provide resources in the skills and simulation lab for mastery of psychomotor and clinical reasoning skills.
- Assist in developing and implementing clinically based scenarios for simulation.
- Implements and runs simulation exercises using low, mid and high-fidelity human patient simulators.
- Assist faculty in planning and implementing simulation activities.
- Maintain a clean, fully equipped simulation lab.
- Manage the room set-up and clean-up for demonstration of clinical procedures and practice.
- Maintain lab and simulation equipment, to include upkeep and maintenance schedules.
- Collaborate on ordering and maintaining inventory of all lab supplies and equipment.
- Work collaboratively with all faculty in scheduling the skills and simulation lab.
- Assist with iCELS approved special events.
- Performs other duties and/or projects as assigned
Qualifications:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associates degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Familiarity with medical terminology and equipment
- Familiarity with troubleshooting equipment
- Able to travel to offsite locations as needed
- Able to provide technical support after hours and/or on weekends as needed
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Clinically relevant experience in a health care setting (e.g. allied health roles)
