Position Overview:
Vallum Associates is partnering with a commercial solar developer who is seeking a Site Acquisition Specialist. This role is crucial in developing solar energy projects by identifying, evaluating, and securing suitable sites. This role combines skills in real estate, negotiation, and project management, working closely with internal teams, landowners, government agencies, and stakeholders to secure land rights and approvals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research and identify potential solar project sites considering factors like land availability, solar potential, infrastructure, and zoning.
- Conduct title searches, verify property ownership, assess easements, and identify environmental constraints.
- Engage and negotiate with landowners on lease or purchase agreements for project development.
- Draft, review, and finalize lease and purchase agreements, ensuring legal compliance.
- Collaborate with project teams, utility companies, and consultants to facilitate site-specific requirements.
- Maintain records of site acquisition activities and develop a portfolio of potential sites for future projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in real estate, business, environmental science, or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in real estate, land acquisition, or site development, preferably in renewable energy.
- Strong knowledge of real estate law, zoning regulations, and environmental permitting.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
- Ability to interpret technical documents and reports.
- Proficiency in project management software and GIS tools.
