Position Summary PS&S is seeking a skilled and experienced Site Civil Designer/Engineer to join our team in Warren, NJ. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering, with a focus on site plan development and design. The Engineer/Designer will be responsible for project documentation and coordination with the project design team including client, review agencies, architects, engineers and landscape architects. The designer/engineer will be knowledgeable in New Jersey site plan application process and experienced in the preparation of site plan design drawings, reports and stormwater management for submission to New Jersey regulatory agencies. Candidate shall have a strong solution-oriented approach to design. Responsibilities The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Use AutoCAD software to complete design drawings using input from engineers and landscape architects on their team.
  • Complete field visits for projects and obtain visual and photographic information,
  • Perform construction inspection services with guidance from supervisors
  • Have a working knowledge of New Jersey Stormwater Management Requirements and Land Use Regulations
  • Complete stormwater management designs for various development projects.
  • Understand and apply local, county and State regulations with respect to the design requirements for each project.
  • Prepare design plans for projects with guidance from supervisors.
  • Research jurisdictional agencies requirements and available data for project sites.
  • Assist in the review of construction shop drawings, product data, and contractor RFI's for projects in construction with assistance from supervisors.
  • Complete jurisdictional applications with assistance from Project Designer/Engineer/Landscape Architect.
  • Begin to evaluate design solutions against industry standards and regulations and develop potential solutions to design problems.
  • Begin to estimate time requirements for project tasks and understand project scope requirements
  • Write technical reports with support of supervisors for submission to regulatory agencies.
  • Attends project meetings and maintains accurate project records.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering
  • Minimum of 4 Years' experience in site civil engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) desirable
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, Civil 3D and other relevant engineering software.
  • Strong knowledge of local, state and federal regulations.
  • Excellent communication, problem solving, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
