Position Type: Support StaffDate Posted: 9/22/2023Location: Genesee IntermediateJob Summary: The Site Coordinator for Student Interventions and Expanded Learning is responsible for leading interventions and expanded learning programs consisting of tired interventions, before school, after school, and summer programs. Works with the Coordinator of Student Programs for Expanded Learning and department administrators to ensure that program objectives are met related to the delivery of services for students. Essential Duties (May include, but not limited to):
Responsible for creating and maintaining interventions and support services including expanded learning programs that meet program goals and objectives in collaboration with administrative staff. Directs the activities of the staff assigned to the program. Responsible for preparation, distribution, and communication of program schedules, information, and promotional materials. Works to maintain a physically and emotionally safe environment for children. Works with Coordinator of Student Programs for Expanded Learning to facilitate the recruitment of staff and volunteers in order to facilitate interventions and activities. Responsible for recruiting students and maintaining attendance at targeted levels. Organizes and maintains program resources including healthy snack items, supplies, and inventories of equipment. Works to schedule, plan, and implement meetings with staff, students, and parents. Develops and maintains a positive and collaborative working relationship with students, school staff, community representatives, the building principal, and GISD Staff. Responsible for the implementation of special projects as needed. Attends required staff meetings, trainings, and professional development. Ensures that staff timesheets, documents, and attendance records are accurate and submitted by department deadlines. Maintains program documentation and ensures all reports deadlines are met. Works with food service director or other agencies to coordinate and manage Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) meals. Works with Coordinator of Expanded Learning to ensure that program staff receive direction and assignments in accordance with program goals. Organizes field experiences for students including off-site, outdoor activities, and special events. Assists in the procurement of additional program resources, including grant writing initiatives. Meets all requirements and maintains all paperwork for LARA Childcare Licensing. Other Duties: Coordinates and schedules parent, student, staff, and volunteer surveys. Assists with other evaluation services and efforts of the evaluation team. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree with at least twelve (12) semester hours in education, child development, or related field required. Previous experience as a Program Coordinator or closely related experience may be considered in lieu of education requirement. Must be able to complete the Michigan School Age Youth Development Certificate and Credential within one year of being hired. Experience: Minimum of two years related experience in a leadership position or with an organization responsible for providing services to children and/or families. Knowledge of community education, child development, out of school time, and expanded learning programs. Skills/Other: Evidence of strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work as an effective team member. Must enjoy working with youth. Evidence of accurate record keeping, financial management, and data collection skills. Self-starter with ability to be flexible and adapt to changes as necessary. Ability to prioritize responsibilities. Works successfully as a member of a team. Ability to utilize district technology and work to maintain proficiency, as required skill sets change with technology and/or the needs of the district. Ability to fulfill responsibilities in accordance with program goals. Must possess a strong knowledge of emergency procedures. Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position. Maintains a positive working relationship with parents/guardians and staff. Punctuality and good attendance are requirements for the position. Represents the district in a professional manner at all times. Ability to work a flexible workday and work week. Strong teamwork, interpersonal communication, and problem-solving skills. Discretion with confidential information. Exercises good judgment and makes decisions in accordance with board policies and administrative guidelines. Demonstrated mental/physical ability and stamina necessary to meet the essential/other duties of the job.
