Job Description:
Role SummaryThe Site Head will engage in the overall operation and oversight of personnel, products, and services of the site. The Site Head will be responsible for managing resources, budgets, standard operating procedures, continuous improvement initiatives, and compliance with regulations along with preparing for future business growth, including developing scientific bench strength, technological capabilities, and facilities growth. This is an exempt position with supervisory responsibility. Role Responsibilities
  • Establish strategy and direction for business-critical functions in alignment with organizational strategic plans
  • Lead, develop, and manage experienced professional employees who exercise significant latitude and independence. Establish and monitor performance expectations.
  • Work with support services (Quality Assurance, Project Management, Safety, IT, Human Resources) to administer policies, processes, and procedures that affect employees and the workflow of the group.
  • Serve as the liaison between the operational staff, support services, and senior management to communicate expectations and business needs
  • Lead decision-making regarding operational priorities of the site and provide information on the feasibility of prospective projects
  • Forecast and manage operations budget for the site
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations
  • Serve as Test Facility Management (TFM)/Test Site Management
  • Anticipate and plan for changes in internal and/or external operating conditions and business needs
  • Other duties as assigned
Role Requirements
  • Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD Degree in a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 7 years of CRO or related experience is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of management/leadership experience required.
  • Advanced understanding of operational procedures in a pre-clinical/bioanalytical environment and the ability to resolve complex issues.
  • Experience leading and developing cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office core applications and the ability to learn and use additional applications.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent understanding of study design and protocols
  • Knowledge of GLPs and other federal regulations relating to drug development and care of laboratory animals
  • Advanced understanding of laboratory operations and data collection
  • Ability to work effectively under time constraints

Special Requirements
  • The person filling this position will spend approximately 90% in an office setting and 10% in the laboratory. There will be exposure to animal pathogens and chemicals. There will be exposure to animal tissue and zoonotic organisms.
  • Ability to don and wear personal protective gear, including N95 masks and respirators.
  • Ability to spend part of the day sitting, standing, and/or walking.
  • Ability to work beyond typical work schedule including but not limited to evenings, weekends, and extended shifts with short notice.
