ABOUT OUR OPPORTUNITYPrimary responsibilities for the Site IT Manager include overseeing support and IT ticket management to ensure timely resolution of technical issues. This is a hands-on position which entails maintaining and securing all IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, and network systems, to guarantee operational efficiency and data protection. Acting as a liaison between business operations and the IT department, the Site IT Manager facilitates effective communication and alignment of IT services with business needs. Additionally, this position involves managing and guiding local IT staff, providing leadership, training, and support to foster a productive and cohesive team environment. TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Others may be assigned. - Serve as the primary technical support escalation point for site IT staff.
- Collaborate with business representatives to ensure technology aligns with business needs.
- Act as the hands-on IT Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all site-specific technology requirements.
- Manage IT projects related to site operations.
- Coordinate with Corporate IT Engineering and Applications Teams to implement corporate standards for IT infrastructure and applications.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and cybersecurity best practices.
- Oversee management responsibilities for Site IT Staff.
- Provide support and administration for servers, storage, network devices, laptops, telephony systems, desktops, workstations, printers, and other peripherals, including configuration, installation, patching, monitoring, and troubleshooting in a mixed OS environment.
- Enter and track IT support tickets.
- Adhere to asset management procedures.
- Identify and address support trends in collaboration with the IT Team.
- Support Line of Business applications.
- Work with the corporate IT Team to implement new technologies.
- Administer the site's Active Directory Organizational Unit for users and computers.
- Ensure successful server and data backups, with reliable recovery processes in case of disaster.
- Conduct annual disaster recovery exercises.
- Verify that all site IT assets are licensed and covered by support or maintenance agreements.
- Follow IT and cybersecurity best practices.
- Collaborate with corporate IT to identify and resolve cybersecurity issues.
- Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Excellent knowledge of server and workstation Operating Systems.
- Advanced knowledge of office suite software.
- Ability to proceed through system diagnostics in a logical and orderly manner.
- Strong analytical skills with a methodological approach to problem solving and implementation.
- Strong interpersonal and team building skills with ability to professionally interact with all levels of personnel required.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in technology or related field or equivalent work experience.
- 4-6 years of experience in hardware support required.
- IT experience in the manufacturing and/or distribution industry preferred.
- Any equivalent combination of education, experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- One or more of the following certification preferred A+, Network+, Security+, CCNA, MCSE.
