Description BASIC FUNCTION To oversee the site logistics operating performance and progress toward the established company goals and recommend adjustments to strategy to accommodate changes in business environment. RESPONSIBILITIES •The Site Logistics Leader acts as primary liaison with onsite third-party service provider. Primarily accountable for the effective communication and integration of multiple functions of site logistics and achievement of the plant's goals •Support protection of the environment and the health and safety of our employees, customers, and the communities in which we operate and/or transport our products, as our highest priority •Demonstrate ownership and responsibility for running the logistics operation to include railcar, trucking, and warehousing with a sense of urgency •Develop new strategies, aligning with company goals, to streamline processes, reduce cost, and optimize operations •Identify and recommend process improvements and cost savings •Communication with internal stakeholders and external suppliers •Oversee the inventory control and inventory management functions and ensure accurate inventories are maintained •Perform regulatory audits; communicate findings, responses and/or remedies •Interface with internal and external customers on any site logistics issues that may arise •Monitor and investigate customer complaints to ensure that we maintain our high-quality standards and deliver the highest quality product to our customers •Act as the subject-matter expert, providing guidance, recommendations, facilitation, and establishing departmental policies and procedures •Identify and or participate in coordinating on site logistics capital projects with various internal and external customers •Responsible for ongoing supplier management of outsourced preventative maintenance providers •Maintain budgets for site logistics accounts •Coordinate with Operations and Maintenance departments to troubleshoot issues, ensure preventive maintenance is on track, and ensure availability of logistics support •Keep abreast of and comply with all applicable Department of Transportation regulations, including hazardous materials regulations •Support functional areas to drive supply chain efficiency •Regularly exercise independent judgment and discretion with minimal oversite •May perform other duties as assigned CORE VALUES Must exhibit and demonstrate our 5 Core Values Caring: Dedicated to Safety, Employees, Customers, Community and Environment Trustworthy: Living a Culture of Openness, Honesty and Collaboration Focused: Creating Value by Delivering the Right Solutions Innovative: Daring to be different by finding New Ways Fun: Embracing our Diverse Family and Celebrating our Success QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED •Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration and or related experience •7 plus years of experience in operational supply chain roles in logistics and warehousing as well as process and logistics compliance and risk. •5 plus years of experience with railcar transportation •A solid understanding of Logistics management and organizational methods •Experience with rail car logistics •Experience with track and loading maintenance •Leadership ability and a highly organized approach to leadership •Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software •Good verbal and written communication skills •Sound financial, business acumen, problem solving and decision-making skills using strong analytical skills to develop business case •Experience with SAP •Ability to perform multiple tasks and a variety of duties PREFFERED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE •Master's degree in Engineering, Business Administration •5 plus years of experience with truck transportation, warehousing, and inventory •American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS) certification, Certified in Logistics, Transportation and Distribution (CLTD), or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) •Experience in plastics or chemicals industry, preferably in polyethylene. •Knowledge/Experience in inventory management. •Project Management PHYSICAL CAPACITY REQUIREMENTS This position requires the incumbent to: •Follow safety requirements (goggles, PPE, etc.) when inside plant environment •Lift up to 10 pounds •Walk safely in and around industrial areas •Speak publicly (such as at employee meetings) •Sit for extended periods of time at a computer and work with computer-based data
