Job DetailsJob Location SURFACE COMS NEWPORT - Newport, RI Position Type Full Time Education Level Bachelor's degree or Relative Exper Travel Percentage As Required Job Shift Any Duties and Responsibilities*This Position is Pending Contract Award*Job Description: The Site Manager (SM) is responsible for overseeing operations at the Site(s) they are assigned to oversee and will directly report to the Corporate Program Manager (CPM). Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Support all assigned Training Devices and assigned personnel
  • Perform site supervisory duties as assigned by the Corporate Program Manager (CPM)
  • Perform site activation responsibilities including hiring, oversight and site support requirements to establish Contractor Operation and Maintenance Services (COMS) at new Sites or new activities
  • Be the primary liaison between the Company and the Contracting Officer Representative (COR)
  • Support training of all Site personnel, evaluate their progression, address any job performance failures, and recommend personnel actions
  • Plan, organize, and execute all facets of logistical and maintenance activities required to ensure Training Devices are ready and available for operations
  • Assess faults and errors and formulate an approach to bring equipment back to Fully Mission Capable to achieve customer-training objectives and availability
  • Coordinate and synchronize all engineering and maintenance activities associated with the full life cycle of Training Devices
  • Provide technical support required to maintain simulators and apply basic knowledge and experience to solve training device problems, including those that are typically able to be solved solely by reference to maintenance manuals or similar documents
  • Deploy, maintain and upgrade systems across the enterprise
  • Perform assigned tasks to ensure equipment availability objectives are achieved
  • Assist in the design of minor hardware system modifications and software programs to stay current with aircraft configuration and to improve simulator operability
  • Conduct quality control inspections and inspects maintenance activities performed
  • Monitor and track the repair status of inoperative equipment
  • Manage required documentation of discrepancies and corrective actions utilizing the Maintenance Management data base system to include work order generation, updates, and repairs
  • Oversee logistical support tasks such as shipping and receiving, packaging, material control, inventory control, Maintenance and Logistical data entry and other material control duties as assigned
  • Work with Engineering in non-standard situations
  • Recommend changes based on knowledge and past experiences
  • Use technical knowledge of simulator and aircraft systems to interpret advanced technical data
  • Interpret mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and electronic schematics and drawings and create simplified versions when needed
  • Conduct voice communications on phone, inter-phone and radio circuits
  • Maintain device requirements and system design standards
  • Implement basimodifications c to existing simulators and training devices
  • Maintain good relations with customers and ensure information flows within the technical organization
  • Assign additional duties in support of contract programs such as Electrostatic Discharge, PMEL, HAZMAT, Tools and FOD accountability, Bench Stock, etc. if required on the program
  • Be highly motivated and driven to deliver an exceptional product to the customer
  • Be part of a high functioning team
  • Represent DRG on site in a professional manner
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management
  • Exhibit high performance and capability to work in a team environment
  • Able to work independently, with normal supervision
  • May be required to travel up to 25%
  • Other duties and requirements as identified and/or prescribed to meet program requirements
Education and ExperienceMinimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a technically related discipline
  • The SM shall have demonstrated a minimum of three (3) years of competence through satisfactory, progressive performance as a manager
  • The SM shall also have a minimum of eight (8) years of technical experience or field experience with equipment of comparable complexity to those being supported hereunder, with at least three (3) years in a supervisory capacity
  • Proficiency in electronics, instrumentation, and computer systems is mandatory
  • Safety and Quality Assurance Experience is required
  • Proficient in establishing computer networking systems
  • Must be highly skilled in technical writing and presentation skills
  • Two (2) years of technical, military, or field technical experience in the simulation or TS/E field is deemed equivalent to one (1) year of formal education at a recognized center of technical education
Additionally, experience and competence in at least three (3) of the following areas:
  • Extensive experience utilizing schematics to troubleshoot inoperative systems, particularly following a modification to a device
  • Participation in a modification team
  • Experienced in troubleshooting complex non-routine problems on simulation equipment, including digital and analog hardware/software, and motion systems.
  • Experience in conducting advanced training in troubleshooting, repairing, and calibrating critical solid-state equipment.
  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular technical field
Supervisory Responsibilities Yes, as defined above Security Responsibilities Obtain and maintain (if required) a DoD Personnel Security Clearance. Must comply with all company Information Systems security policies and procedures. May be responsible for proper classification and marking of all information and materials. Employee shall not divulge any information or afford access to other employees not having a need-to-know authorization. Shall not divulge information outside the company without management approval. Will be required to execute company non-disclosure agreement before access to any controlled information. Language Skills Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language. Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex word and technical documents/diagrams. Must be able to effectively communicate orally and in writing and work effectively as part of a team. Reasoning Ability and Mathematical Skills Must be able to analyze problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. An ability to interpret complex customer requirements and attitudes from verbal, non-verbal, and written communication is desirable. Must be able to calculate figures and numbers, and percentages and be able to draw and interpret graphs. Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and drawings. Work Environment and Physical Demands The work environment and physical characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this position. Must be able to perform Domestic and International travel as required. Shop floor environment. Will be working in areas with risk of injury from electrical applications, moving mechanical parts, hydraulic, or pneumatic systems under pressure and electrical motion systems. May be exposed to conditions of extreme heat, airborne particles, and loud noises. This contractor and subcontractor shall abide by the requirements of 41 CFR 60-1.4(a), 60-300.5(a) and 60-741.5(a).
