Salary: $15.68 HourlyLocation : Citrus County, FLJob Type: Part Time 20-29 Hrs wklyJob Number: 24-25PTDepartment: Community ServicesDivision: Support ServicesOpening Date: 11/04/2024Closing Date: 11/17/2024 4:30 PM EasternGeneral Description Perform duties of Marketing and Targeting services offered by Senior Programs to potential eligible clients throughout Citrus County.Visits local businesses, churches, and organizations throughout the county to talk about our programs and seek new clients. Attends table events and speak at group meetings about Senior Dining and Meals on Wheels. The goal of this position will mainly be to increase attendance at the community centers that offer the Senior Dining Program and activities.The schedule for this part-time position is Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, although must be able to work flexible hours to attend events and cover centers.This position is grant funded by the Federal Older Americans Act Grant. Essential Functions
  • Performs marketing and targeting duties, attempting to reach senior populations especially covering the most at-risk demographics as defined by the Department of Elder Affairs.
  • Performs duties at community centers to assist Community Center Coordinator with daily activities.
  • Oversees serving of congregate meals and coordinates delivery of home delivered meals.
  • Receives meals, checks temperatures, and safely holds food for serving at lunch time.
  • Plans and coordinates daily activities for clients.
  • Covers the community centers for vacations and approved leave of co-workers.
  • Completes client reservations daily, to ensure that clients attending the center receive meals.
  • Assists with recruiting and training of volunteers.
  • Assists and/or runs a community center with the Senior Dining Program and Meals on Wheels.
  • Prepares routine and recurring reports.
  • Sanitizes surfaces where clients have lunch.
  • Drives and/or operates a county vehicle or equipment and must obey all safety policies, and roadway rules and laws.
  • Performs other duties as required.
Minimum Requirements Education, Training, and Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Requires over six months of relevant experience.
  • Marketing experience, preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, Registration, Skills
  • Valid Florida Driver License or must obtain within 30 days of establishing residency in Florida.
  • Must pass Level II Background Screening (fingerprints).
  • Requires ability to maintain courteous and effective relations with County staff, elected officials, community interest groups and the public.
  • Must have strong working knowledge of computers and be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite of Products (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Must have or be able to obtain within 90 days certification in FEMA National Incident Management System (NIMS) courses:
    • IS-100.c: Introduction to the Incident Command System (ICS); and
    • IS-700.b: An Introduction to the National Incident Management System
Physical Requirements/Work Environment
  • Requires a combination of sitting, standing, and walking.
  • The job involves frequent lifting and carrying up to 10 pounds, and occasionally up to 20 pounds.
  • The job requires frequent bending, balancing, and occasional squatting, kneeling, twisting, and reaching above shoulders.
  • The job requires the completion of tasks that involve simple grasping, pushing, pulling, fine manual manipulation, typing, operating foot controls/levers, and driving automotive equipment.
  • The job requires normal visual acuity and field of vision, depth perception, hearing, and speaking.

Emergency Response/Recovery Activities
  • All employees will be required to work before, during, or after an emergency. During an emergency, employees may temporarily be assigned to work and perform duties outside the normal scope of their position, location, and work schedule to fit the needs of the County and its citizens. Emergency response duties may also include driving and/or operating a county vehicle or equipment and employees must obey all safety policies, and roadway rules and laws.
