Job Summary
As a Procurement Specialist, the incumbent will be responsible for implementation of procurement strategies, working with site personnel to create requisitions and resolve PO/invoicing issues with supply vendors. The Procurement Specialist will function as material sourcing specialist, assisting with established vendor relationships across all procurement areas, which include raw, operating, and maintenance materials. Responsibilities include Communication of Purchase Order status with suppliers, requestors, and approvers, from creation through payment, as well as tracking weekly procure to pay report and other relative KPI's.
Responsibilities/Description:
- Perform as primary sourcing specialist for procurement of maintenance materials and supplies
- Perform as secondary sourcing specialist for procurement of operating supplies and raw materials
- Establish relationships with all service providers for all materials
- Create and track requisitions through completion
- Perform backup accounting functions for department
- Conform to plant safety and environmental requirements, accepting responsibility for personal safety
- Work in, and comply with, cGMP guidelines
- Ability to work in a team environment and communication with other employees using multiple methods of communication
- Understand and participate in operations and supply chain team initiatives.
- Maintain a high degree of motivation by being flexible, displaying good leadership, and being able to prioritize and make informed decisions to meet business requirements
Requirements:
- 2+ years of relevant experience/education in industrial plant procurement systems and accounting processes
- Experience with Microsoft Office
- Willing and able to wear required PPE (personal protective equipment) such as steel toes, hardhat, Nomex clothing, and protective eyewear
- Willing and able to: lift or move up to 50 lbs.; climb stairs, ladders, and columns; stand, walk, stoop, bend, kneel, crawl, utilize visual acuity, reach overhead, hear and respond to alarms
- Willing and able to work both indoors and outdoors in hot, cold, wet, and dry conditions
- Willing and able to work around hazardous materials
Preferred Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering from accredited institution
- Experience with SAP procurement processes and accounting functions
- Experience working in cGMP facility
