Life at Russell is full of opportunities.How You'll ContributeThe Site Safety Officer provides safety oversight to ensure compliance at job sites where on-site safety is contractually required.SAFETY DUTIES
- Responsible for identifying, documenting and recommending resolution of hazardous and/or potentially hazardous conditions.
- Responsible for providing safety leadership and guidance to project team.
- Conduct ongoing training to onsite personnel to ensure compliance.
- Conduct safety orientations for new workers on site.
- Assists in maintaining and updating site specific safety programs and related safety materials including, but not limited to: OSHA 300 log, safety record keeping, training records, safety audits and all other documentation for compliance.
- Ensure subcontractor compliance with Russell & company requirements on site.
- Assists in safety communications, including safety committee agendas/minutes.
- Conduct weekly and monthly safety meetings.
- Conduct a daily safety inspection and monitor any deficiencies.
- Investigate any incidents and near misses on site and complete accident reports.
RequirementsEducational and experience requirements include: Bachelors degree or equivalent and/or a minimum 5 years safety experience equivalent combinations training and related experience. OSHA 30 hour construction required. Must possess and maintain valid Driver's License with safe driving record. Current CPR and First Aid certification required. Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point required. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential. Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times is critical. High level of organization skills required.
