31st October, 2024 One Tech Engineering is searching for a Site Safety & Health Specialist for a position located in Reading, Pennsylvania. The Site Safety & Health Specialist will support the site project management team to deliver project specific Safety & Health programs. The candidate must be a US Citizen or a green card holder, the position is not eligible for sponsorship. The candidate should have a Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or Construction Management and 3 years construction safety, general industry safety, or construction management. Local candidates preferred or open to relocation. This is not a remote position.Site Safety & Health Specialist Responsibilities:
- Create and implement safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe, healthy, and incident-free work site in a heavy construction environment.
- Monitor Safety & Health activities on field construction projects to verify operations are executed as planned and conducted in a safe manner.
- Execute Safety & Health Program deliverables as defined by the Corporate Safety & Health department by responding to questions and/or concerns related to site specific safety and health compliance issues in a timely manner.
- Maintain compliance with applicable Local, State, and Federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations.
- Investigate actions related to work stoppage when circumstances could lead to an immediate danger to life and health on a project.
- Report safety and health concerns that have been resolved safely, and present the details and the personnel involved to the project management team.
- Present safety and health information to the Corporate Safety & Health team to ensure that the project safety program is being implemented effectively and required safety compliance has been documented.
- Responsible for written and verbal communication with client Safety & Health department regarding any site safety & health issues, coordination of preventative measures, and building working relationships with project staff and each Subcontractor Safety Representative to ensure proper compliance is consistently maintained.
- Conduct, monitor, and record project safety & health walk-through assessments with subcontractor safety personnel.
- Present all safety assessment findings to appropriate parties.
- Manage and document safety activities which require immediate correction and verify that these items are corrected in a timely manner.
- Prepare documents to be distributed relative to safety, including assisting Site Management with correspondence to heighten safety awareness, project safety and health goals and ensure a safe and productive work environment is a priority among all project personnel.
- Conduct and document training on environmental, safety & health subjects.
- Review and complete, as necessary, near miss, property damage, environmental incidents and Accident Investigation reports and recommend countermeasures as appropriate.
- Present project Safety & Health program progress, challenges, and objectives to Corporate Safety & Health.
- Complete company's daily project Safety & Health reporting requirements and ensure project specific Safety & Health records are in an audit ready state at all times.
- Verify project subcontractors maintain all required safety records in an audit ready state and submit all documentation as required to Corporate Safety & Health.
- Drive to various project site locations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Complies with all policies and standards.
Requirements of the Site Safety & Health Specialist:
- Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, Engineering, or Construction Management and 3 years construction safety, general industry safety, or construction management.
- Or Associate Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or Construction Management and 5 years construction safety, general industry safety, or construction management.
- Or High School Diploma/GED and 7 years construction safety, general industry safety, or construction management.
- Experienced knowledge of Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) Construction and General Industry Regulations, as well as, America National Standards Institution (ANSI), National Institute for Occupational Safety & Health (NIOSH), Army Corps of Engineers (CoE), Engineers Manual 385-1 and National Electrical Code (NEC) Standards.
- Must be proficient in the use of computer software (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be willing to work various schedules at the project site location.
- Must meet standards to qualify for and maintain the Company's vehicle driving privileges as outlined in the Company's Motor Vehicle Safety Policy.
- Valid driver's license is required.
- OSHA 10-hour Construction Outreach Safety Training Course Required or OSHA 30-hour Construction Outreach Safety Training Course is required.
