Family & Children's Place of Louisville, KY is looking to hire a full-time Site Supervisor for the after school program at Hazelwood Middle School in New Albany, IN. ABOUT SCHOOL BASED SERVICES Our school-based programs focus on homework, communication about academic progress, emotional literacy, substance abuse prevention, leadership, and family support. We help students learn how to better manage their emotions in difficult circumstances as well as the importance of working hard in school, and how both can increase their chances of success in the future. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A SITE SUPERVISOR As a Site Supervisor in youth and family services, you play an essential role in contributing to the education of our clients. You will coordinate the planning for programming and activities at the school in conjunction with other staff members. You provide services, including homework assistance as well as planning and leading group activities that are intended to improve academic performance and social development. As you get to know your students, you document both their academic and behavioral progress. You communicate any areas of concern to your manager and ensure your students receive the help they need. In addition, you document and submit all pertinent paperwork before the required deadlines, including client program attendance, client advocacy, client surveys, and assessments as well as the employee Daily Service Activity (DSA) report and timesheet. This is an afternoon position because you are working with students after they are dismissed from school for the day. QUALIFICATIONS FOR A SITE SUPERVISOR
- Experience with providing direct services to youth or
- 2+ years of study at the college level related to social work, education, science, technology, engineering, or math (preferred)
- Ability to pass a background check as well as a child abuse and neglect check upon hire
- Ability to appropriately relate and respond to culturally and ethnically diverse populations
- Knowledge about Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Proficiency in middle school-level math, is preferred.
