Job Description:
Our client is a national leader in chemicals used in industrial processes. They are looking for a Site Supervisor for their La Salle, IL plant, which produces nitrogen, oxygen, and crude argon. The supervisor will lead a local operations team and a remote team in Eastern Iowa; delivering products across multiple states. This role reports to the Site Manager and oversees daily operations, safety, and team leadership.Your boss is a former military veteran who perfectly exemplifies how the company values military talent. Starting as plant operators, they are now the leaders of a regional operational center looking for their next supervisor to grow and develop.Some of the key responsibilities are:- Leadership and safety: You will lead the site team and ensure the maintenance of safety protocols and operational reliability. You will also be responsible for plant safety, improving productivity, managing the budget, and coordinating maintenance.- Operational discipline: Ensure proper procedures are followed, manage costs, and execute tasks within the budget. You will need to understand the plant's processes, handle troubleshooting, and implement best practices.- Emergency preparedness: Ensure that the team is trained and prepared for emergencies and maintain high safety awareness.This role is more of a working leadership role than purely an office-based leadership role. You are expected to be in the field working with your team and helping when needed for field work or troubleshooting. Due to the locations in IL and IA, you will travel to those locations early in your career to understand your people and their processes more. This travel will reduce after you are acclimated to the company and you have a grasp of how to improve the overall operations. Candidates from the military should be experienced with processing systems (gas/water/steam/fuel) and how those technologies support that movement. A strong safety background and mentality are essential due to their work on behalf of their customers. This role is an excellent fit for veterans with experience leading teams, ensuring safety, and maintaining equipment under challenging conditions. Your military background in operations and leadership will be highly valued in this position.Base salary, $110 - $120K, plus a targeted 7% bonus.
