Job Description:

About Alto:

Alto is on a mission to redefine the rideshare experience for passengers, drivers, and employees alike. Through our business model of professional employee (W2) drivers and a dedicated fleet of luxury vehicles, we are turning rides into exceptional experiences by delivering industry-leading safety, consistency, and personalization. As the first vertically-integrated fleet manager and ridesharing service, we are also committed to leading the industry by transitioning our entire fleet to electric vehicles. Today, we operate in Los Angeles, Dallas, Miami, and Houston with our goal being to continue growing and accelerating towards a nationwide expansion.

About the role:

We're looking for a people-focused leader and a professional with transportation industry knowledge to lead one of our Alto Depots. Alto is a premium rideshare company offering luxury vehicles, W-2 drivers, and a consistent, high-quality passenger experience focused on safety and professionalism.

In this role, you'll manage a several thousand sq ft depot, the local operating team, fleet, and will be responsible for ensuring we maintain high quality service to our customers, and efficient day-to-day operations.

This opportunity excites you because you will:

  • Lead Operations: Oversee daily operations at the satellite location, managing workflows for staff and drivers while leading a team of up to 7 leads and 10-18 service agents. Provide guidance to achieve operational goals, track and report KPIs (e.g., driver downtime, occupancy rates, revenue, supply hours, safety scores), and ensure employees receive training and development to meet company standards and safety protocols.
  • Own Excellence: Proactively identify and resolve operational issues, ensure compliance with safety policies and regulations, and collaborate with central management to align site operations with company objectives and strategic initiatives.
  • Performance and Reporting: Deliver regular updates to the Operations Manager on performance, challenges, and improvement opportunities. Evaluate and coach team members through performance reviews, and leverage financial and operational data to identify improvements, implement cost-saving measures, and enhance profitability.

What you will bring to the table:

  • You're a proven leader, capable of managing teams, including direct supervision of leads, agents, and large groups of staff plus fleet.
  • You're eager to take ownership of a dynamic and rapidly growing business by being an owner imploring a controlled sense of urgency
  • You are a problem solver, using critical thinking skills from first principles to solve problems in innovative ways avoiding “this is how it's always been done thinking”
  • Rapid change and learning from mistakes excites you while thriving in an ambiguous start-up environment
  • You deploy business acumen allowing data to win arguments while adjusting site-level operations to stay in-line or above performance and budgetary KPIs
  • You have 3+ years experience: In Operations, Transportation, Fulfillment, Logistics, or related fields.
  • You have 1+ years of experience managing a team
  • You have a college degree, or relevant professional work experience.
  • You have a flexible schedule and are committed to ensuring your team and site are fully supported, including availability during late nights and weekends.
  • Start-up experience is preferred.
  • Ability to lift and physical exertion as needed to operate large scale operations.
