Job Posting: Site Support Technician- #233199Location: Canandaigua, NY Type: 6 month contract Start Date: September 17th Job Overview: One of Medix's best clients is a leading producer of a wide range of packaging solutions used primarily in the foodservice and consumer goods industries! This client is looking to add an experienced Site Support Technician to their team due to growth within the organization. The position primarily involves providing technical support in a manufacturing environment, working around heavy machinery, and addressing desktop environment issues. This individual will be responsible for working on-site in the Canandaigua, NY office. Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide everyday troubleshooting and support for desktop environments.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot networking issues, with a foundational understanding of networking principles.
  • Manage and support Cisco equipment, SCCM, and Windows environments (currently on Win 10, transitioning to Win 11).
  • Serve as the primary IT contact for local locations, including handling on-call support as needed.
  • Participate in occasional regional travel.
  • Assist with emergency support and project work, including nights, weekends, and holidays on an as-needed basis.
  • Participate in formulating and implementing a regional on-call rotation plan.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in a technical support role, preferably with a background in manufacturing settings and comfortable with working around heavy machinery.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of desktop support, networking principles, and Cisco equipment.
  • Proficiency with SCCM and Windows operating systems (Win 10 and Win 11).
  • Comfortable with occasional travel
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Logistics:
  • Based in Canandaigua, NY.
  • Onsite 5 days per week.
  • Availability for on-call support as the primary IT contact for local locations.
  • Some regional travel required with potential future support in other areas.
Compensation is based off years of experience and in relation to the job responsibilities listed, our range is between $33-$35/hour
