AirQuest is seeking a site surveillance technician for a part or full-time position.Job SummaryYou will be an integral part of the industrial hygiene team by assisting in a variety of environmental and industrial hygiene field activities, which may include asbestos, lead based paint, air monitoring, indoor air quality, radon and/or mold site activities dependent upon need. You will be expected to take initiative in various projects assigned to you by your supervisor. Under supervision, you may perform a variety of specialized paraprofessional industrial hygiene, environmental or engineering field research, report writing, file maintenance, public relations and office administrative duties. When necessary, performs studies and prepares reports; research scientific topics, prepares basic scientific calculations; maintains records; performs field observations and surveys; updates maps and drawings, and performs related work as required.Position Information:
- Part-Time or Full-Time
- Typical hours range from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday-Friday as well as a rotational on-call weekend (but additional hours, including nights and non-on-call weekends are required)
- Pay contingent on experience

Specific Responsibilities:
- Conduct site inspections, surveys and oversight activities for asbestos, lead, radon, mold, industrial hygiene, and indoor air quality projects.
- Prepare and review technical reports for asbestos, lead, radon, mold, industrial hygiene, and indoor air quality projects.
- Collect air and bulk samples for laboratory analysis.
- Pass required training such as OSHA 30, and others.
- Daily travel throughout San Francisco Bay Area.
- Prepare proper documentation of site activities in preparation for drafting reports.
- Prepare daily logs and provide photo documentation and diagrams.
- Coordinate and schedule site activities.
- Input data in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Attend monthly field meetings.
- Attend pre-job and pre-bid meetings.
- Communicate with clients via emails and phone conversations.
- Effective & quick communication with Clients on non-technical matters.
- Effective & quick communication with internal staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Must be able to read, understand, speak, and write English.
- Must be able to use standard office equipment, such as computers, copiers, fax machines, and telephone systems.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Must be able to draft reports and have exceptional note taking skills.
- Must have good communication skills.
- Time Management.
- Mold experience is a plus.
- CAC (Certified Asbestos Consultant) or CSST (Certified Site Surveillance Technician) certification required.
- California Department of Public Health Lead Inspector/Assessor.
- 0-5 years of experience in the following specialties: industrial hygiene, indoor air quality, asbestos monitoring and air sampling, inspection and risk assessment, lead inspection and risk assessment. Will train in these areas as well.
Requirements:
- Valid driver's license.
- Reliable means of transportation.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check.
- Ability to pass a drug test.
- Ability to pass a respirator physical.
- Ability to work long hours; especially night hours providing asbestos abatement monitoring in the Healthcare (Hospital) Environment.
- Ability to work out of town, on an as-needed basis.
- Ability to carry and use a ladder and use basic tools and equipment.
- Must be able to wear personal protective equipment such as, hard hats, ear plugs, safety glasses, respirators, steel-toed boots, fall protection harnesses.
- Must be able to walk on uneven surfaces and stand for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to work in an outdoor environment.
- Must be able to lift and carry 40lbs.
- Minimum High School/GED.
