Job DetailsJob Location: Lee Canyon Resort - Las Vegas, NVPosition Type: SeasonalSalary Range: UndisclosedDescriptionSki Patrol monitors the mountain, promoting a safe environment for guests and employees. Ski patrol provides first aid, rescue, and transport to those in need.Duties & Responsibilities:* Respond to medical emergencies on the mountain.* Transport injured guests off of the mountain.* Administer first aid and, in some cases, extended patient care.* Assess and mitigate hazards and safety concerns within the Resort ski area.* Maintain Resort ski area signs, ropes, and padding.* Educate guests on proper conduct and safety measures.* Complete required paperwork and reports accurately and timely.* Perform sweeps at the end of the day to ensure that all guests and employees are safely off the mountain.* Special duties may include performing chair lift evacuations, search and rescue, and avalanche mitigation.* Perform other Mountain Operations duties as assigned.Qualifications* Must be at least 18 years of age.* Current CPR and EMT certification is required. (OEC, WFR, or similar training may be considered in some cases.)* Must demonstrate advanced to expert skiing or snowboarding ability to safely navigate any area of the mountain in all weather and snow conditions* Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.* Must have a strong work ethic and self-motivation.* Must work well with a team and collaborate with others regularly.* Must be committed to maintaining a safe environment for guests and employees.* Must have a working knowledge of all emergency and evacuation procedures.* Must exercise good judgment and problem-solving skills.Work Environment & Physical Requirements:* Must be able to push, pull, and lift 50+ lbs.* Must be able to work for an extended period of time in varying weather conditions, including blizzard, extreme cold, and/or wind.* Must be able to work at high altitudes for an extended period of time.* Must be able to safely walk in ski/snowboard boots in icy conditions.* Must be willing to adapt and problem solve in a dynamic work environment.
