Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated Slitter Machine Operator to join our production team. This role is crucial in ensuring precision and quality in cutting and converting materials to meet customer specifications. The ideal candidate will possess technical expertise in machinery operations, an eye for detail, and a commitment to safety.

Shift Availability:

  • 1st Shift: Sunday-Tuesday, 6 AM-6 PM / Wednesday, 6 AM-12 PM
  • 2nd Shift: Sunday-Wednesday, 6 PM-6 AM / Thursday, 12 AM-6 AM
  • 3rd Shift: Wednesday, 12 PM-6 PM / Thursday-Saturday, 6 AM-6 PM
  • 4th Shift: Wednesday (starting Thursday), 12 AM-6 AM / Thursday-Saturday, 6 PM-6 AM

Key Responsibilities:

  • Machine Operation: Set up, operate, and monitor slitter machines to cut flat films or materials to specified dimensions.
  • Quality Assurance: Perform regular quality checks to verify product dimensions, material integrity, and edge quality, and make necessary adjustments.
  • Material Handling: Load and align rolls on machines, adjust feed mechanisms, and ensure accurate material handling.
  • Inspection: Identify and address defects, such as uneven cuts or roll inconsistencies, to meet production standards.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance and cleaning, including blade sharpening and debris removal, ensuring equipment remains in optimal condition.
  • Collaboration: Work with the Quality Assurance team to meet or exceed customer requirements.
  • Documentation: Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to document machine performance and production outcomes.
  • Workplace Safety: Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all housekeeping and safety standards.
Qualifications:
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in operating and adjusting slitting machinery.
    • Ability to monitor and interpret gauges and control panels.
    • Strong problem-detection skills with a proactive approach to troubleshooting.
    • Understanding of cutting mechanics and blade tension adjustments.
  • Experience: Previous experience with slitter machines or similar production equipment is preferred.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, push, or pull materials as required and stand for extended periods.
