Summary
The Slot Compliance Specialist is responsible for maintaining compliance and adherence to internal, external, tribal, state, and federal compliance requirements, including policies, procedures, regulations and laws. This position is the primary point of contact for preparing responses and materials for internal and external audits. The Slot Compliance Specialist assesses the current tracking processes for all gaming-related software, conducts investigations, responds to reports of potential violations, educates department leadership on relevant regulations, and assists in developing formal plans to address any identified issues.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Create and maintain all individual physical and/or digital slot machine files. Files may include PAR sheets, TGA verification sheets, work orders, and other documents as needed.
Assess all game software and hardware to identify if and how it is tracked for compliance purposes. This includes researching new game cabinets and existing equipment upgrades.
Track and investigate independent testing labs and / or vendor compliance notification and advise if actions to be taken.
Perform routine assessments of internal compliance processes and documentation, including risk assessments and possible deficiencies in our compliance processes.
Responsible for computer data entry in EGM software database and electronic slot machine files.
Provide audit support to the State, TGA, external audits, and other Cache Creek Casino Resort departments and prepare all audit documentation for submission to the requesting agency.
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and establishing personal networks.
Respond and contribute to requests and inquiries from staff, employees, and outside agencies.
Provide project support to technical staff by educating team members on how to identify software and documents related to compliance standards for the physical hardware and deployment of EGMs.
Provide suggestions and insights about compliance standards deployed at the property. This involves reviewing various processes and offering suggestions and strategies for improvements and optimizations while still meeting both internal and external regulations.
Stay up-to-date and understand original research or complex professional and technical documents such as regulatory compliance materials (state and federal), GLI reports, CNI reports, System of Internal Controls.
Read, comprehend, and interpret gaming regulation and, requirements, and assist the Slot Department leadership in ensuring procedures and processes within the Slot Department are met.
Review daily GLI and CNI reports, Mandatory Notices, Field Advisories, Customer Service Notifications, etc., to determine recalls of software.
Collect and prepare appropriate documentation per requirements for compliance and improvement of slot machine operations.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
Conduct machine-level verification of compliance information when needed.
Maintain strict confidentiality.
Provide excellent service and courtesy to all departments.

Qualifications

Experience and/or Education
Three years related experience and/or training; Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or equivalent combination of experience and education.
Computer Skills
Must have strong Excel spreadsheet experience. Use computer functions such as complex spreadsheets, statistical analysis, and database searches to create and keep software slot matrix current and functional. Must be able to operate a computer proficiently. Must be accomplished in Microsoft programs including, but not limited to Teams, Excel, Outlook, and Word.
Must be able to learn other software programs required by the department. Type and/or enter data at a speed necessary for successful job performance. The technology or knowledgebase is constantly changing, influenced by competing technologies on going and substantial change in the methods used and knowledge required in the job. Continuous effort is required to keep knowledge and skills up to date.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Additional Skills
Must be able to work independently and multitask in a fast-paced environment. Must have or be able to quickly acquire knowledge of departmental program structure (mission, goals, and objectives), department policies and procedures.
