Job Summary:

Responsible for troubleshooting and repair of Slot Machines, Video Lottery, Class II bingo and related electronic gaming devices in the casino Slot Repair Shop.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot and repair slot machines and related equipment to the common component level.
  • Have basic understanding of electronic theory.
  • Assists with the installation and maintenance of slot machines.
  • Maintains proper documentation of department repair logs, shift logs, daily shift reports, and lock and key logs.
  • Safely and effectively operates shop equipment including hand tools, soldering equipment, and some electronic test equipment.
  • Maintains security of equipment, records, funds, locks, and keys.
  • Effectively interprets slot machine conditions by use of self diagnostic and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Performs special projects and machine moves as assigned.
  • Understands the slot network system, performs repairs, and corrects line failures.
  • Installs, moves, removes, and modifies all related stands, signage and machines.
  • Participate in the programming or repair of progressive gaming and other electronic displays.
  • Assist on gaming floor with minor tilts, jams, and customer service functions
  • The ability to regularly lift 75 pounds and the ability to stand a full shift is required for this job
  • Strictly adhere to established internal controls concerning the slot machines, the internal components and the repair procedures.
  • Observe all safety and gaming regulations when performing assigned duties. Report safety hazards to assigned supervisor.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability required. A passing grade on a written test is required. Knowledge of a variety of class III and class II games is essential. Understanding of coin-in and player development data management systems is helpful; proficiency with office software applications is required. Extensive knowledge of electronics theory, multi-testers, schematics and troubleshooting analysis are required. Experience with metal fabrication and design is beneficial. Must have discretion to maintain strict confidentiality of classified information. Must be competent with various PC based software programs. Must possess excellent business sense and high professional ethics. Ideal candidate will have excellent customer service demeanor and be able to work cooperatively with coworkers.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or GED required. 2 years electronics degree and 1 year slot tech experience required, or 3 years slot tech experience. Knowledge of basic machine shop operations is essential. Strong organizational and communication skills, and the proven ability to perform in fast paced and goal oriented environment.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Reading, writing and interpersonal communication in English are key to the successful conduct of this position. Must have the ability to read, analyze and interpret technical reports and to write reports and correspondence.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Must have the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY

Must have the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS

Position requires valid Class C drivers license and ability to obtain NIGC gaming license.

While performing the typical duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands to manipulate or feel, talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to sit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The casino slot repair shop has moderate to loud noise levels.
