About the job: Embark on a new career journey to shape the future as a Small Magnetics Assembler Technician, where you will be part of a team crafting transformers destined for military and industrial products. The Small Magnetics Assembler connects components to assemble transformers and other various fabricated items, as specified by work orders, diagrams, work instructions, or customer layouts. Small Magnetics Assembler Key Responsibilities including, but not limited to:
* Wind coils used in electrical equipment and instruments according to wiring diagrams, samples, or work order to fabricate military or commercial components
* Review wiring diagrams, work instructions, and / or job traveler to ascertain type and size of wire specified
* Utilize provided documentation to determine proper build and finished dimensions of completed coil and ensure all information is met in the processing
* Select coil-forming device for specified coil and fastens device onto machine arbor, mandrel, or spindle or fastens device between chuck and tail stock
* Thread end of wire from reel through tension device, guides, and spreader, bends wire ends to form lead, and attaches lead to coil core; turns set screws to adjust tension on wire and sets counter for number of turns specified; and cuts wire to form leads.
* Start machine and manually feed wire over coil core or spreader to obtain even and uniform winding and shape of coil; and observe counter and stops machine at specified number of coils.
* Size coil, with care, to shape coil to proper dimensions; and remove coil from mandrels or other devices to pass a completed item to the next operation.
* Strip insulation from end of lead wires, thread lead wires through insulating sleeves or slides sleeves over leads, and solder lead wires to terminals.
* Complete small magnetics product through its' manufacturing lifecycle, including bending and shaping leads, completing the tinning process, and cleaning final product.
* Correctly process all necessary paperwork
* Work with engineering and other departments to improve products and ensure quality and compliance
* Enter information into the ERP system and complete all paperwork ensuring the documentation is routed to its' proper destination
* Identify and report any issues or concerns related to product quality, packaging, or documentation including but not limited to equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or quality issues to supervisors
* Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions to ensure compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory requirements
* Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, including cleaning equipment and removing debris or obstructions
* Participate in training programs and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance skills and knowledge
* Adhere to company policies and procedures, including attendance, punctuality, and workplace conduct & Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively to support a positive work environment and achieve production goals
* Follow safety procedures and guidelines to prevent accidents or exposure to hazardous materials
Required Qualifications:
* High School Diploma or GED equivalent
* Must be 18 years or older
* Must be able to work full time
* While performing the functions of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for long periods of time, have use of hands to finger with dexterity, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and lift up to 25 pounds. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk or hear, and lift up to 50 pounds. Close vision, ability to adjust focus, and color vision are all required for this position.
* Must be US citizen with ability to secure a US Government security clearance; Applicants must meet eligibility requirements for access to export controlled data
Preferred Qualifications:
* Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial environments
* Previous experience with assembly or fabrication work prescribed by drawings, sketches, work instructions
* Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
* Ability to write simple correspondence.
* Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of that organization.
* Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
* Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent to draw and interpret bar graphs.
* Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
* Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
* Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new skills
* Ability to follow work instructions and work effectively in a team environment
* Attention to detail and commitment to quality, safety, and site and product security
* Good communication skills and ability to interact professionally with coworkers and supervisors
* Ability to lift and move heavy objects as needed
* Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as required by production schedules
