Weekly Pay Range - $1192 To $1324 Job Title: Anesthesia Technician Job Specialty: Anesthesia Technology Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Thursday/Friday 6:00 am - 7:30 pm; Saturday 6:00 am - 8:30 pm (lead on Saturdays - charge pay available) Guaranteed Hours: Not specified Experience: Two years of experience as an Anesthesia Technician highly desired License: Not specified Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) preferred (American Heart Association ONLY) Must-Have: Two years of experience as an Anesthesia Technician Job Description: - Assist in the care of patients undergoing anesthesia, including preparation of equipment, placement of monitors, cleaning equipment, ensuring availability of specialized equipment and supplies, and setting up medications and supplies.- Communicate continuously with anesthesiologists, residents, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs), and other technologists to ensure their needs are met.- Assist clinicians with difficult intubations and the placement of central line catheters.- Operate the cell-saver machine, track lab reports, and participate in advanced surgical cases such as cardiac, liver transplant, vascular, thoracic, and trauma.- Provide primary support in ensuring that anesthesia equipment is in good working order and perform preventive maintenance.- Set up and operate sophisticated equipment and perform advanced troubleshooting.- Serve as the key resource person in using and maintaining specialized equipment.- Assist in the development and implementation of training programs and train staff in roles and responsibilities.- Perform equipment set up and troubleshooting, including testing infusion pumps, nerve stimulators, defibrillators, monitors, calibrating machines, and attaching bronchoscopes to video monitors.- Set up rooms between cases, manage carts throughout the day, and provide full service setup at the end of the day.- Work with other hospital units to ensure the availability of specialized anesthesia equipment.- Set up and support procedures in non-operating room settings, ensuring proper equipment is in place.- Provide backup to the shift supervisor during absences.- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisory personnel.
