Weekly Pay Range - $1085 To $1205 Job Title: Sterile Processing Technician Job Specialty: Sterile Processing Job Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Shift (5x8-hour days, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm) Guaranteed Hours: Not specified Experience: Three (3) years required License: Any current Technician License Certifications: HSPA cert or a CBSPD cert, BLS (American Heart Association ONLY) Must-Have: - Two (2) years of experience- BLS Certification Job Description: - Perform decontamination, preparation, sterilization, and distribution of surgical instruments and medical equipment throughout the surgery center.- Utilize infection control and safety practices during all phases of the process.- Have sufficient knowledge of equipment function to discern operational adequacy and differentiate between operator error and equipment malfunction.- Maintain sanitary, infection control, and safety standards.- Assemble and wrap appropriate instruments, supplies, and equipment using OneSource as a resource.- Have sufficient knowledge of processes, procedures, quality assurance, chemicals, and medical instruments for effective decontamination and sterilization.- Lift and move trays of instruments and patient care equipment, such as IV pumps and monitors, up to 25 lbs.- Exhibit good telephone manners and problem-solving skills.- Perform bending, lifting, and washing using decontamination processes, including handling instrument pans, bins, trays, and carts of various sizes.- Differentiate tactile elements, e.g., temperature, moisture.- Exhibit skill in cleaning specialized equipment.
