Weekly Pay Range - $1096 To $1218 Job Title: Sterile Processing Technician Job Specialty: Sterile Processing Job Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Shift, Sunday through Thursday, 11:00 PM - 7:30 AM Guaranteed Hours: Not specified Experience: Three (3) years License: Technician License (ANY Tech License accepted in the state of NY) Certifications: - BLS (American Heart Association ONLY)- HSPA or CBSPD Certification Must-Have: - BLS (American Heart Association ONLY)- Two (2) years of relevant experience Job Description: - Perform decontamination, preparation, sterilization, and distribution of surgical instruments and medical equipment.- Utilize infection control and safety practices during all phases of the process.- Demonstrate knowledge of equipment function to determine operational adequacy and distinguish between operator error and equipment malfunction.- Comply with applicable sanitary, infection control, and safety standards.- Use OneSource as a resource to assemble and wrap appropriate instruments, supplies, and equipment.- Demonstrate knowledge of processes, procedures, quality assurance, chemicals, and medical instruments to decontaminate and sterilize equipment.- Ability to lift and move trays of instruments and patient care equipment, including IV pumps and monitors, up to 25 lbs.- Exhibit good telephone manners and problem-solving skills.- Perform bending, lifting, and washing using decontamination processes for various instrument pans, bins, trays, and carts.- Demonstrate skill in cleaning specialized equipment.
