We have a current career opportunity as a; SMT AOI/SPI/AXI Process EngineerLocation: Tarboro, NC, USA The SMT AOI / AXI Process Engineer is responsible for creating, maintaining, and improving the AOI / SPI / AXI processes and programs for Automotive ECU production lines. These processes include AOI, SPI, AXI processes. A core focus of this role is leading efforts to reduce defects created during the SMT process and improve efficiency. The department currently consists of six SMT lines that run multiple shifts, 5 days a week with weekends as needed based on customer demands. Job Summary:* Responsible for supporting process development of new models and processes * Works with cross functional teams to determine application specific process requirements.* Provides lessons learned input to design / development through DFM, Design for Manufacturing, reviews.* Provides new product build support for equipment selection, tooling development and procurement.* Introduces and maintains process programs and process parameters to support manufacturing operations.* Responsible for process documentation, Setup Matrix / Work Instructions / Process Guides.* Drives activities for OEE, Scrap, Yield and DPMO improvement to support plant performance metrics.* Supports Scrap reduction efforts through problem solving and process optimization.* Advanced manufacturing line problem solving related to manufacturing process related defects.* Drives Lean Manufacturing Initiatives through basic TPM, Kaizen and Lean methods.* Supports Customer Audits and Visits through knowledge and process sharing.* Supports TPM program by providing mentoring and training to peers, technicians, and operator personnel. Additional Functions: (Individual tasks, duties, and responsibilities of the position of lesser importance or frequency)* Creation and presentation of reports and presentations* Knowledge of Panasonic (Placement), Senju (Reflow), Suzuki (Glue) equipment is a plus.* Other duties as assigned. Education:* 4-year Technical College Degree in Related Field Experience: * 3+ years in SMT environment* Understanding of SMT component package types and typical markings * Familiar with SMT packaging and IPC Standards * Experienced with BOM reviews and component research* Experienced with Gerber data using Graphic Code GCPrevu or similar software* Knowledge of Lean manufacturing concepts techniques* Strong mechanical aptitude including strong troubleshooting skills* Able to read schematics/drawing and create comprehensive work instructionsStrong data analysis skills and ability to use data to drive continuous improvement* Knowledge of computer systems (specifically Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint) to perform and present analysis for necessary job duties.* Strong written and verbal communication skills to create and present concepts to internal teams and all levels of management.* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel PowerPoint Word
